Scoring Big: France Télévisions picks-up season 2 of First Line. Season 3 now available
Following the successful launch and outstanding ratings of Season 1, France Télévisions has acquired Season 2 of the hit sports-themed tween and teen live-action drama First Line. Produced by Avanti-Toast and distributed internationally by GoldBee, the series has become an acclaimed youth brand winning three Gémeaux Awards including Best Youth Fiction Series, Best Direction, and Best Supporting Role.
The announcement follows recent pick-ups of Season 2 by SVT (Sweden) and RTS (Switzerland), while Season 1 continues to expand its reach with broadcasts on RTBF (Belgium) and YLE (Finland).
First Line shows no signs of slowing down: Season 3, produced by original broadcaster Radio-Canada (ICI TOU.TV EXTRA and ICI TÉLÉ), premiered in May 2025 in Canada with outstanding results ranking in the top 15 of most watched programs along with seasons 1 and 2, amongst all genre on ICI TOU.TV EXTRA, once again securing the series’ position as a flagship youth drama at home.
In Season 1, audiences discovered Chloé, a determined young hockey player whose talent earned her a spot on an elite all-boys team, challenging stereotypes while navigating the rivalries, friendships, and emotional ups and downs of adolescence. Season 2 raises the stakes: Chloé pushes herself harder than ever to grow as both an athlete and a person, while the arrival of new teammates, coaches, and complex relationships test the team’s unity on and off the ice. From sabotage to secret romances, to (spoiler alert!) a dramatic championship win sealed by Chloé’s game-winning goal, this season delivers even more drama, empowerment, and inspiration.
Christophe Goldberger, Founding Managing Director of GoldBee, said:“France Télévisions is a perfect home for First Line, and their commitment to Season 2 underlines the global strength and universal themes of the series. Based on Nadia Lakhdari’s hit book series, First Line delivers the authenticity and depth that today’s youth audiences demand. This is a series that inspires young viewers while keeping them entertained with top-level storytelling and relatable characters.”
Monique Lamoureux, Copresident of Avanti-Toast, added:“From the beginning, our ambition was to create a youth drama that combined authenticity, intensity, and heart. The continued success of First Line across markets, and now the second acquisition by France Télévisions, is a testament to the creative talent and passion of everyone involved.”
